They also control whether you get licensed or not. They collect a fee from every gallon of Dexos approved product, made. And out of those, that are both GF6 and SP, some of them will be Dexos approved.ĭexos is GM's own specification, much like BMW, or Mercedes, or Fiat, the Dexos specification is GM's pile on. Every engine oil will be GF6, but not every engine oil will be SP. These are the latest and greatest motor oil governing specifications out there, that are adopted across all makes and models. So there's two primary industry specifications.ĪPI SP and ILSAC GF6. I *do* own one of the top 5 distributors in the US of lubricants, but I try to stay brand agnostic overall. They don’t make junk and up market it like Lucas or Amsoil. But their heart is certainly in the right place. It’s expensive to ship, but I’m a distributor.Īs for HPL, their super car 0w40 is the generic answer. Well if you ever want a discount on redline, hit me up. Hopefully I can find a house and get moved out here. You guys got so many good tracks within a few hours, were on a damn island in Utah with UMC. Bucket list track for me, hoping I can get on it one way or another. I'm sitting in Northern Kentucky(working out here and possibly moving here) at the moment, and almost ran to mid Ohio this weekend to watch some Gridlife races. I PM'd their account to see if they could convince me to try them, but they gave a vague response and told me to buy their supercar 0w40 for my use.īoth HPL/RL will cost me around the same - $100 bucks for 6 quarts. Depending on what I have in stock that I want to yoink off the shelf. And when I take to mid Ohio next month to track I’ll either go with the 0w30 or 5w30. In my 2019 Mustang Bullitt (Power pack+ GT engine.) I daily drive it with redline 5w20. I have a Cobb tuned Gen 2 Raptor, I run the Redline 5w30 Euro in it. So if you’re happy with the 0w30 product, I’d keep running it. As well, P66 just has better buying power. Redline May still be a bit better as their formulations are more proven. But their products are extremely comparable to redline. Testing it for compatibility with Polyrex, Chevron SRI, and P66 polytac.

I actually have a case of his polyurea grease sitting under my desk to run some compatibility testing with. I talked to the owner of HPL for a long, long time over the course of a few weeks.
